Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins is seeking an AML & Conflicts Assistant in Birmingham to support client onboarding and compliance processes. You’ll perform AML checks and conflicts searches, verify information from fee earners, and guide stakeholders through the onboarding journey.

The role sits in General Counsel and Risk, offering exposure to risk and compliance in a leading international law firm with opportunities to grow alongside the business intake team.

Qualifications

• Graduate, or someone with previous compliance experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• Positive, adaptable and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with AML checks and client due diligence reviews.
• Conduct client and matter research using screening tools and databases.
• Verify information submitted by fee earners and support staff.
• Respond to enquiries and provide guidance throughout the onboarding process.
• Carry out conflicts searches and identify potential issues.
• Support the wider Risk & Compliance Team with administrative and compliance-related tasks.
