Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins is seeking an AML & Conflicts Assistant for a 6-month fixed term to support client onboarding and compliance processes from Birmingham. The role focuses on AML and conflicts checks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the onboarding flow.

The successful candidate will assist with due diligence, conduct research using screening tools, verify information from fee earners, and help the Risk & Compliance team with administrative tasks while developing expertise in legal

Qualifications

• Graduate or equivalent with interest in risk and compliance.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• High accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems quickly.
• Positive, adaptable attitude and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support AML and conflicts checks as part of client onboarding.
• Conduct client and matter research using screening tools and databases.
• Verify information submitted by fee earners and staff for accuracy.
• Respond to enquiries and provide guidance throughout onboarding.
• Carry out conflicts searches and identify potential issues.
• Support the Risk & Compliance team with administration and compliance tasks.
