Job summary

Bury Council’s Emergency Duty Team (EDT) is seeking an experienced AMHP with at least 2 years post-qualifying experience in children’s and adults social care. The role focuses on emergency responses and MHA assessments for the local authorities, with a 37-hour week on a 9-week rolling rota that covers 7 days, 24 hours, including bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years post-qualifying experience in children’s social care and adults social care.
• AMHP qualification and willingness to undertake AMHP training if not already completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency response to adults, children and those with mental health issues.
• Complete assessments under the Mental Health Act for Bury & Rochdale Local Authorities.
• Operate 37 hours per week on a 9‑week rolling rota covering 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays.
