Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an ambulatory care team member to screen patients, take vital signs, and document information in the EMR. The role supports geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients, aligning with the organization's mission and patient-centered care values.

You will assist with examinations, administer vaccines, perform point-of-care tests, coordinate referrals, and help maintain clinic flow and infection control per established policies.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Screens and collects vitals from patients in ambulatory settings.
• Prepares patients for examinations and treatments per clinic protocol, escorts to exam rooms, and records chief complaint, histories, and medications in the EMR.
• Performs point-of-care tests and basic procedures (blood pressure, HbA1c, urinalysis, rapid strep, EKG, pulse oximetry).
• Maintains patient flow, ensures timely follow-up on lab results and referrals, and updates EMR with status and test results.
• Administers vaccines and places PPDs per protocol; ensures specimens are labeled and sent to the lab; assists with physical examinations using aseptic technique.
