Job summary

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a Vehicle Technician to ensure Trust vehicles (Petrol / Diesel / Hybrid and EV) are serviced, repaired and maintained to DVSA standards. A recognised apprenticeship plus NVQ or C&G level 3 is required, with a full UK driving licence and category C1 entitlement.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent.
• Full UK manual Driving licence.
• C1 Driving Licence (or work towards upon appointment).
• NVQ Level 2/3/4 or equivalent in high voltage/hybrid vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Welding certification (or work towards upon appointment).
• Ambulance equipment training (or work towards upon appointment).
• Fire suppression systems training (or work towards upon appointment).
• Air conditioning F Gas Certification (or work towards upon appointment).
• IRTEC - Institute of Road Transport Engineers Certificate accreditation (or work towards upon appointment).

Responsibilities

• Service, repair and maintain Trust vehicles to DVSA’s standards.
• Carry out diagnostic and repair of ambulance equipment.
• Work in a modern workshop with training and CPD while supporting management.
• Maximise vehicle throughput, reduce workshop delays and supply chain Frustrations.
