We are recruiting Ambulance Care Assistants who will be highly trained to provide safe, caring, and secure transport for our patients on their way to and from appointments.
This role involves driving a range of patient transport vehicles, from cars to long-wheelbase ambulances, using both manual and automatic transmissions. Flexibility to work alone or as part of a two-person crew is required.
Supporting our vulnerable patients involves frequent lifting and moving using equipment such as stretchers, carry chairs, and wheelchairs.
The Ambulance Care Assistant's responsibilities include conveying patients to and from outpatient clinics, renal dialysis, admissions, discharges, and non-urgent inter-hospital transfers, using manual handling aids as needed.
Effective communication with patients, relatives, and the public in a calm, professional, and respectful manner is essential, even in challenging circumstances.
You will provide a high-quality service, ensuring patient safety and wellbeing while in our care.

The Patient Transport Service (PTS), part of Essentia, offers transport for patients who cannot travel by other means due to medical or mobility reasons. Our fleet includes various vehicles such as cars, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, ambulances, and high-dependency units, equipped with specialized equipment like stretchers and stair climbers.
