Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ambulance Care Assistant to serve your local community and join the Ambulance Service as part of our ambulance crews based in Addlestone.

An Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) is a rewarding role where you'll help those in need, making a difference in their lives. Your main responsibility will be transporting service users to and from medical appointments and healthcare facilities.

This is a full-time role working 4 days out of 7 (10-hour shifts) between 05:30am and 00:30am on a rota. Please only apply if you can work these hours.

Other duties include:

  • Transporting 'end of life' service users with empathy
  • Effective communication with patients and families
  • Lifting, securing, and assisting patients in and out of the ambulance
  • Handover of patients at treatment centres or to families

Minimum requirements:

  • Valid UK manual driving licence
  • Flexible availability within operational hours
  • Effective communication skills, especially in emotional situations
  • Physical fitness for patient handling
  • Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded)
