Job summary

Flexzo Teach seeks experienced tutors to join a local talent pool in Lytham for flexible, short- and long-term placements.

Deliver engaging sessions in core subjects or SEN/SEND support, plan differentiated activities, and coordinate with schools while safeguarding and compliance are priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring within Alternative Provision (AP) or with SEN/SEMH learners.
• PGCE or QTS preferred; A-levels in relevant subjects required.
• Right to Work in the UK and a valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging tutoring sessions aligned with setting priorities for core subjects and SEN/SEND support.
• Plan differentiated activities to meet complex needs; ensure reasonable adjustments.
• Help learners build independent learning strategies and confidence.
• Record session notes and progress updates; communicate outcomes to school staff.
• Coordinate with educational settings on delivery approaches, schedules and resources.
• Adhere to safeguarding and compliance policies; escalate concerns as needed.

Alternate Provision Tutor (Secondary) | Flexzo Teach

Flexzo Teach is a direct-booking platform connecting education professionals directly with local settings in Lytham. We are inviting experienced tutors to Register and join our local talent pool for flexible, short-term, and long-term placements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Deliver engaging tutoring sessions in line with setting priorities, focusing on core subjects (English, Maths, Science) or specialist SEN/SEND support.
• Plan and differentiate learning activities to meet complex needs, ensuring reasonable adjustments for learners with SEMH, ASC, or ADHD.
• Support learners in overcoming barriers to education by building independent learning strategies and confidence.
• Record detailed session notes and progress updates, communicating outcomes effectively with school staff and stakeholders.
• Coordinate directly with educational settings to confirm delivery approaches, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Strictly adhere to safeguarding and compliance policies, escalating any concerns immediately through the appropriate channels.

Requirements

• Qualifications: PGCE or QTS preferred; a minimum of A-levels in relevant subject specialisms is required.
• Proven track record tutoring within Alternative Provision (AP) or working extensively with SEN/SEMH learners.
• Strong knowledge of the Secondary curriculum in your chosen tutoring field.
• Must have the Right to Work in the UK and a valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to apply for one).
• Confidence in delivering both in-person and online sessions with reliable conduct and clear communication skills.
