Job summary

Flexzo Teach in the UK is seeking an Alternate Provision Tutor (Secondary) to join a flexible, direct-booking model with local educational settings. You can choose short-term, long-term or ongoing assignments and specify your availability for in-person or online delivery.

Qualifications

• PGCE or QTS preferred; minimum A-levels in relevant subjects.
• Experience tutoring learners in Alternative Provision or with SEN/SEMH.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one, especially for in-person delivery).
• Confidence delivering sessions in-person and/or online with clear communication.
• Subject knowledge aligned to tutoring offer (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Primary, SEND support).

Responsibilities

• Deliver tutoring sessions in line with objectives and settings' priorities.
• Plan and adapt learning activities to meet learner needs with differentiation.
• Support learners to engage with tasks and develop independent learning strategies.
• Record session notes or progress updates and share with staff.
• Communicate clearly with setting contacts to confirm delivery approach and timing.
• Follow safeguarding and compliance processes and escalate concerns as required.

About Flexzo Teach

What you can expect

As a Alternate Provision Tutor on Flexzo Teach, you

• Access flexible tutoring opportunities with local educational settings (short-term, long-term and ongoing support opportunities
• Receive direct booking requests and messages from settings through the platform
• Set your availability and preferred working patterns, including in-person and/​or online delivery
• Set your hourly rate with full transparency
• Be visible to settings building internal staff banks and collaborative staff banks, meaning you may also be requested for interview as schools and trusts expand their local banks
• Share your subject specialisms and preferred key stages so settings can match you to relevant tutoring needs

Typical responsibilities (varies by setting)

Depending on the education provision, you may support with:

• Delivering tutoring sessions in line with agreed objectives and the setting’s priorities.
• Planning and adapting learning activities to meet learner needs, including appropriate differentiation and reasonable adjustments where required
• Supporting learners to engage with learning tasks and build independent learning strategies
• Recording session notes or progress updates where required and sharing these with appropriate staff
• Communicating clearly with setting contacts to confirm delivery approach, timings, and any required resources
• Following safeguarding and compliance processes and escalating concerns in line with setting policy

Requirements

• PGCE / QTS preferred (minimum A-levels in relevant subjects
• Experience tutoring learners in within an Alternative Provision or working with SEN/SEMH learners
• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to complete one if required, particularly for in-person delivery
• Confidence delivering sessions in-person and/​or online, with clear communication and reliable professional conduct
• Subject knowledge aligned to your tutoring offer (e.g. English, Maths, Science, Primary, SEND support)
