Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd. are partnering with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Blackburn to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within the school's Alternative Provision.

The role starts November 2026 for the full 2026/27 academic year, with potential for a permanent position for the right candidate. You will support pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs and other barriers to learning, both academically and pastorally, helping them re-engage with education and build confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in educational or youth-work settings.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Patience, resilience and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils academically and pastorally in Alternative Provision.
• Assist teaching staff and pastoral team with consistent approach.
• Help pupils re-engage with education and build confidence.
