Job summary

TeacherActive in Leeds is seeking an Alternative Provision Teacher to support SEMH pupils on a short- or long-term basis. You will deliver engaging lessons, manage behaviour, and build positive relationships within specialist settings.

The successful candidate will work to create a supportive learning environment with resilience and adaptability, partnering with consultants to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT) with eligible status
• Experience with SEMH needs in young people
• Experience in alternative provision or specialist setting preferred
• Strong classroom and behaviour management

Yorkshire and Humber/ contract / £170 - 210 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEMH provisions across Bradford who are looking to appoint an Alternative Provision Teacher. These specialist settings support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, providing an environment where pupils can engage positively with their education.

The Alternative Provision Teacher will work on a short-term or long-term basis, supporting pupils with SEMH needs and delivering engaging lessons suited to their individual requirements. The successful Alternative Provision Teacher will be expected to manage behaviour effectively, build positive relationships and create a supportive learning environment.

The successful Alternative Provision Teacher will have:

• QTS (ECTs are also welcomed to apply)


• Experience teaching or supporting young people with SEMH needs


• Experience working within an alternative provision or specialist setting is desirable


• Excellent classroom and behaviour management


• A resilient and adaptable approach


• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
