Job summary

TeacherActive is working with an SEMH provision in Bradford to recruit an Alternative Provision Teacher who can inspire young people to re-engage with education. The role requires QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and experience in an Alternative Provision or SEMH setting, with strong behaviour management.

You will deliver engaging lessons, support SEMH pupils, and build positive relationships to encourage progress and participation.

Qualifications

Job Title: Alternative Provision Teacher

Location: Bradford

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £160 - £200 per day

Do you have experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs?

Are you resilient, adaptable and confident in managing challenging behaviour?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an SEMH provision in Bradford that supports children and young people who require an alternative approach to mainstream education. The provision focuses on creating a supportive and structured environment where pupils can develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The provision is looking for an Alternative Provision Teacher for both short-term and long-term opportunities.

The successful Alternative Provision Teacher will support pupils with SEMH needs, delivering engaging lessons while managing behaviour effectively and building positive relationships to encourage participation and progress.

The successful Alternative Provision Teacher will have:

• QTS, QTLS or relevant teaching qualification
• Experience teaching within an Alternative Provision, SEMH or similar setting
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management
• A resilient and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
