Job summary

The David Ross Education Trust seeks an Alternative Provision Mentor to support identified at-risk pupils as part of a coordinated school and agency response. You will help address barriers to attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and engagement, fostering positive attitudes toward education and future life chances.

You will work with pupils, parents and staff, drawing on qualifications in education and mentoring to improve social and emotional health, resilience and academic engagement across our

Qualifications

• GCSE/NVQ level 2 in English and Maths or equivalent.
• 2 A-Levels or Level 3 equivalent.
• Experience of working with children/young adults in an education setting with strong interpersonal skills.
• Professional qualification relevant to the post (e.g., social work, teaching, mentoring, youth work).
• Driver's Licence, business insurance and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Target support for identified at-risk pupils as part of a coordinated school and agency response.
• Work to remove barriers to engagement, attendance and well-being and promote positive attitudes toward learning.
• Collaborate with parents/carers, school staff and wider community partners to plan and monitor progress.
• Safeguarding and promoting welfare in line with statutory guidance.
