Job summary

Aston Education Ltd. is recruiting an ALS Manager for a Sixth Form College near Victoria station in central London. The role focuses on continuous improvement of SEN/ALS provision, embedding an inclusive culture and delivering high-quality education for 16-19 learners and Apprenticeships.

You will coordinate with external agencies, parents and carers, manage EHCPs and annual reviews, and lead LSAs to support learners with diverse needs in a demanding, supportive college environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a senior ALS position within a school/college.
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Pastoral and SEND experience with KS4, post 16 or adult learners.
  • Experience of leading the support of students with SEND, e.g. SENCO or ALS Coordinator or ALS Senior.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

  • Lead on the creation of learner passports to implement reasonable adjustments for High Needs/ALN students and ensure exam access arrangements.

Location: Sixth Form College, near Victoria station, central London

Contract: Permanent, full-time, term time only, Monday to Friday 8:45am to 4:45pm. Occasional travel to Manchester.

Annual Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 (actual salary for 39 weeks)

The ALS Manager job

As an ALS Manager, you'll be leading on the continuous improvement of SEN/ALS provision, embedding an inclusive culture and ensuring the college provides a high-quality education to their learners with additional needs.
