Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is recruiting an ALN Teaching Assistant for a mainstream secondary school in Chepstow, starting 2nd November 2026. The role supports pupils aged 11-16 with additional learning needs.

You will work with the ALN department and classroom staff, providing one-to-one support and group assist, promoting inclusive learning and wellbeing. Pay is £465-£550 per week during term-time, with hours 08:30–15:30, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language needs is a plus.
• Willingness to work term-time only.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs
• Supporting small groups during lessons and intervention sessions
• Assisting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs
• Helping pupils access the curriculum across a range of subjects
• Supporting literacy, numeracy and organisational skills
• Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Building positive relationships that promote wellbeing and progress
• Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and parents
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback where required
