Vetro Education is seeking experienced and dedicated ALN Teaching Assistants to work in a Special School in Aberdare, RCT. The school supports learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, and challenging behaviour. Vetro Education is looking for ALN Teaching Assistants in or around the Aberdare area who are experienced in these fields.

As a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, Vetro Education offers opportunities to work in Primary, Secondary, and SEN schools, as well as privately run education provisions across Wales.

Overview:

• Title: ALN Teaching Assistant
• Location: Aberdare, RCT
• Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

The role: What you'll be doing as an ALN Teaching Assistant

• Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder, or Challenging Behaviour
• Assisting learners at the start and end of the school day
• Helping staff prepare the classroom for lessons
• Working with learners in small groups or 1:1 with children with additional needs
• Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons
• Assisting learners during break time with lunch
• Engaging learners with classroom and out-of-class activities
• Working in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies

The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as an ALN Teaching Assistant

• At least 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; experience within an SEN setting is beneficial
• Registration with the EWC (Education Workforce Council); assistance available for registration
• References covering the last two years (no gaps)
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
