Vetro Education is seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated 1-2-1 ALN Teaching Assistants to work in a Special School in Aberdare, RCT. This Special School has tasked Vetro with finding a number of 1-2-1 ALN Teaching Assistants to take up full time, 1-2-1 roles supporting pupils with ASD, Challenging Behaviour and SEBD.

Due to the nature of these roles, the successful Teaching Assistants can expect to be at this Special School for the duration of the academic year.

Overview:

• Title: 1-2-1 ALN Teaching Assistant
• Location: Aberdare, RCT
• Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a 1-2-1 ALN Teaching Assistant

• Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global Delay Disorder or Challenging Behaviour
• Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
• Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
• Working with learners in small groups and/or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
• Supporting the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
• Assisting learners at break time with their lunch
• Engaging learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
• Working in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies

The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a 1-2-1 ALN Teaching Assistant

• At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
• Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
• References covering the last two years (no gaps)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
