Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Officer to join the Early Years ALN Cognition & Learning Team. The role focuses on supporting non-maintained education providers to deliver inclusive, high-quality provision for children with ALN.

The team collaborates with settings, families and multi-agency partners to ensure early identification, planning and provision under ALN legislation, with a Welsh language greeting requirement and a hybrid working policy in

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with Additional Learning Needs.
• Knowledge of the ALNET Act and ALN Code.
• Ability to work with multi-agency partners.
• Welsh language ability to greet customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, guidance and practical support to non-maintained education providers to identify, assess and meet the needs of children with ALN.
• Support early identification, assessment and planning for children with ALN.
• Advise on strategies, interventions and resources to support development and learning.
• Assist in developing One Page Profiles, targeted support plans and ALP.
• Support IDP processes within non-maintained settings.
• Support transitions into and between placements with settings and schools.
• Collaborate with professionals and agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
