Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is seeking a Laboratory Technician for an expanding client operating across multiple sectors. The role includes a 3-shift pattern (6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am) with a 12.5% uplift and 37.5 hours weekly.

You will analyse alloy samples and prepare specimens. The ideal candidate has a science background with strong maths and computer skills, can interpret results, work independently and as part of a small team, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Science background with good maths and computer skills.
• Ability to interpret results and adjust alloy chemistry.
• Willingness to provide 24/7 lab cover in a 3 shift pattern.
• Meticulous with exceptional attention to detail.
• Autonomous, self-motivated and able to prioritise tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse alloy samples by instrumental techniques (Combustion, Optical Emission, XRF).
• Prepare samples for analysis and maintain equipment.
• Input results into the company database and assist with calculations during heat manufacture.
