An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician within the Alloy Plant. This role operates on a 3-shift rotation, and reports to the Laboratory Supervisor.
From October this role will be moving to a continental working pattern.
Your main responsibilities will include;
Analysis of alloy samples by instrumental techniques using; Combustion, Optical emission and X-ray Fluorescence techniques. Samples include preliminary melt samples, certification samples, and remelt samples from casting plants and external customers
Preparation of samples for analysis
Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
Routine standardisation of laboratory equipment
Maintaining 5S within laboratory
Inputting of results to LIMS
Calculating bath additions during heat manufacture using LIMS and Optimat
