Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a growing client in the UK. You will analyse alloy samples using Combustion, OES and XRF, prepare samples, and input results into the company database.

The role operates on a 3-shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am) with a 12.5% shift premium and a 37.5-hour week. Candidates should have a science background with strong maths and computer skills, plus the ability to work autonomously within a small team while maintaining

Qualifications

• Science background with strong maths and computer skills.
• Ability to interpret results and adjust alloy chemistry accordingly.
• Willingness to work in a small team providing 24/7 laboratory cover on a 3-shift pattern.
• Meticulous with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work independently and prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of alloy samples by instrumental techniques (Combustion, OES, XRF).
• Preparation of samples for analysis.
• Routine maintenance and standardisation of laboratory equipment.
• Inputting results to company database.
• Calculating bath additions during heat manufacture.
