Description

Working in partnership with the Chief Manufacturing Officer and their teams to oversee and manage the portfolio of key strategic collaborations within the Manufacturing centre and across the wider organisation. Ensuring partnering culture and behaviours are adopted to optimise the value created in collaboration with current and future partners.

Responsible for managing all aspects of partnership management, from late-stage deal activity, through integration, alliance setup, ongoing management, and exit.

Leading and driving the partnership capability and processes within the team and across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the collaborator.
  • Manage long-term relationships between CGTC and the collaborator.
  • Work closely with alliance management counterparts and senior executives at the collaborator company.
  • Facilitate relationships at all levels within both organisations.
  • Coach and mentor CGTC team members and executives on appropriate interactions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build mutual trust and ensure effective communication between team members.
  • Manage Joint Steering Teams, clarifying roles and mandates within the contractual framework.
  • Educate team members on contract terms, obligations, and roles; ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Identify risks, pre-empt issues, facilitate conflict resolution, and manage escalation processes.
  • Understand partners’ strategies, structures, cultures, goals, and objectives; serve as the voice of the partner within CGTC.
  • Develop trust-based relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to create additional value from partnerships.
  • Organise and manage cross-functional internal teams to coordinate alliance activities and facilitate communication.
  • Collaborate with business and function leaders to develop aligned positions before engagement.
  • Maintain records of meetings, decisions, financial transactions, and key documents.
  • Conduct periodic alliance assessments, health checks, and manage scorecards and metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports on alliance activities and financials.
Experience
  • Experience in alliance management roles, ideally within a GMP manufacturing organisation.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Motivated, pragmatic, and practical, supporting the mission to accelerate the development of a cell and gene therapy industry in the UK.
  • Experience leading strategic alliances in Pharma or Biotech sectors.
  • Skilled in building collaborative relationships, team networking, conflict management, and intercultural sensitivity.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, strong analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with high emotional intelligence.
  • Resilient, flexible, and able to learn from experiences and setbacks.
  • Adaptable to project needs and priorities, willing to travel.
Education / Qualifications
  • Degree in life sciences or pharmaceutical sciences with significant GMP experience. An MBA is a plus.
