Job summary

South West Water in Exeter is seeking an Alarm Optimisation Technical Assistant to support the Alarm Rationalisation Project across SPS and STW sites. The role focuses on reviewing, labeling, and optimising alarms within the SCADA system, aligned with the Alarm Philosophy and EEMUA standards.

You will analyse data, prepare clear reports using Power BI, engage with operations teams, and maintain documentation, audit trails, and project records as milestones are delivered.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent in a technical discipline (Engineering, Environmental Science, Computer Science, IS).
• Strong analytical and data management skills.
• Experience with SCADA or similar industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Extract and validate alarm configuration data using SCADA and related systems.
• Apply alarm prioritisation, labelling and optimisation processes.
• Document configuration changes to technical/operational standards.
