Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer for an on-site role in the UK. You will support transfer of AIT production knowledge into the facility and act as the engineering focal point on the shop floor, driving continuous improvement across processes.

The role requires experience in complex engineering environments and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, BOM management and MES systems.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND or Advanced Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience in complex engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.
• Experience supporting engineering change processes.
• Experience structuring BOMs from drawing through to manufacturing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience with MES or manufacturing data systems.
• Strong problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support the transfer of Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) production knowledge into the UK manufacturing facility.
• Act as the manufacturing engineering focal point on the shop floor, supporting operators and production teams.
• Lead and support structured problem solving and process improvement activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, cost performance and production standards.
• Support design for manufacture (DFM) during early product development stages.
• Support and implement engineering change processes within manufacturing operations.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work balance charts.
• Contribute to line balancing and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety, environmental and quality standards.
