Job summary

Lancashire Constabulary is seeking an ICT Systems Engineer - Airwave to join our ICT Department. This role focuses on ensuring reliability and performance of Airwave/ESN systems supporting frontline officers and partner agencies across Lancashire.

The position requires experience with IT infrastructure, fault diagnosis, project planning, and stakeholder engagement, with opportunities for professional development and a hybrid working pattern.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of current IT infrastructure, applications, and systems.
• Experience of working on own initiative, investigating problems, developing solutions, and taking appropriate timely action to resolve them.
• Knowledge and experience of the diagnosis and repair of faults across a range of ICT equipment and systems.
• Experience of and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, internally and externally.
• Experience of planning and implementing ICT projects.
• HNC or equivalent qualification/ willingness to work towards
• ITIL Foundation Certificate or willingness to work towards and complete
• Project Management qualification or willingness to work towards and complete as part of in house CPD

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for the installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution, in relation to ICT equipment and services across the Constabulary
• To provide technical advice and support to customers, stakeholders, and ICT staff in order to maximise system performance and to facilitate the implementation of changes and new products/applications
• To contribute to the design, installation, and support of Airwave & ESN systems, including the specification of equipment requirements
• To adhere to systems of internal control operating within Airwaves & ESN ensuring compliance with Constabulary policies and ICT National Standards
• To ensure that systems, installations, and projects are recorded and mapped appropriately
