Job summary

Police Scotland in Scotland invites applications for an Airwave Communications Officer within the Digital Division. You will support the implementation and maintenance of the force’s critical communications infrastructure across mobile devices and services.

The role includes acting as a technical expert, providing end-user guidance and participating in standby on-call rotas to respond to incidents outside normal hours. Training and development opportunities are highlighted.

Responsibilities

• Assist and deputise for the Airwave Communications Team Leader in providing a comprehensive communications system support service
• Design, implement and maintain the communications infrastructure managed by Police Scotland, ensuring services align with strategy and standards
• Advise end users on communications support systems and collate user requirements for management
• Maintain asset management plans for 25,000+ mobile devices and monitor hardware/software performance
• Participate in standby/on-call rota to respond to out-of-hours incidents and provide urgent support when required
