Job summary

Police Scotland in Scotland is seeking an Airwave Communications Officer to support and develop its communications infrastructure. You will ensure services align with Police Scotland strategy, advise end users, and manage a large fleet of mobile devices.

A standby/on-call rota and out-of-hours support are part of the role. The position offers flexible shift patterns (full-time or part-time), competitive salary and benefits within a national police service, with ongoing training and progression

Qualifications

• Assist and deputise for the Airwave Communications Team Leader in providing a comprehensive communications system support service.
• Design, implement and maintain the communications infrastructure managed by Police Scotland, ensuring services meet strategy and standards.
• Advise end users on the use of communications support systems and collate user requirements for management.
• Maintain asset management for 25,000+ mobile devices and monitor hardware/software performance, resolving recurring incidents.
• Participate in a standby/on-call rota and provide urgent out-of-hours communications support when required.
