Job summary

Babcock is recruiting an Airfield Operations Assistant to support safe and efficient operation at the Army Aviation Centre near Stockbridge, Hampshire. This outdoor, hands-on role involves airfield inspections, wildlife management, and infrastructure checks within a security-conscious environment.

You will join a dedicated aviation team and help maintain safety standards across both military and civilian airfield activities, with opportunities to learn specialist airfield knowledge and gain

Qualifications

• Experience in airfield or aerodrome operations.
• Understanding of airfield safety procedures and reporting requirements.
• Experience using operational vehicles or equipment in a safety-critical environment.
• MS Outlook, Word and Excel knowledge.
• Strong communication skills with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct airfield escort duties across the aerodrome.
• Perform FOD inspections, sweeping, collection and disposal activities.
• Support wildlife hazard management using non-lethal methods.
• Inspect airfield infrastructure and grounds, report faults and safety concerns.
• Maintain airfield vehicles and equipment, including cleaning, refuelling and documentation.
