Job summary

Vincere in Luton is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker to join our aviation maintenance team. The role involves working under the Certifying Engineer, handling complex repairs and fabrications on aircraft components during night hours. You will interpret drawings, perform SMW tasks, and ensure regulatory and quality standards are met.

Applicants should have an apprenticeship in aviation, strong hand skills, and the ability to work independently, with a focus on safety and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in aircraft industry.
• Understand regulatory requirements related to Part 145.
• Proven work history in aviation maintenance environments.
• Excellent sheet metal hand skills.
• Able to work independently and make timely decisions.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal work on fabricated parts, fixtures, drilling, deburring and related activities.
• Maintain workspace, equipment and records to be audit ready.
• Fabricate aircraft SMW parts, panels and doors from services aircraft and determine repair methods.
• Interpret customer specifications and technical drawings.
• Carry out maintenance, repairs and production tasks to technical data standards; report defects.
• Ensure paperwork and MRO system entries meet required standards.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements (EASA Part 145, Part M, Part 66) and health and safety policies.
• Keep an up-to-date aircraft maintenance logbook and hold a valid SMW authorisation.
• Occasional ad hoc project work within role scope.
