Job summary

Serco Group Plc is seeking an Engineer (Mechanical) to oversee contractor tasks in line with regulations and procedures. The role emphasizes safe, timely completion and alignment with policy and statutory requirements.

The position involves monitoring work, flagging risks, and mentoring colleagues, with a focus on Merlin systems and related health and safety practices. Baseline security clearances may apply, and flexible/hybrid working options exist where possible.

Qualifications

• Recognised supervisory qualifications with experience on mechanical aircraft systems/components.
• Experience with supervisory qualifications from related industry welcomed.
• CofC Board and Service Certificate of Competency are required.
• Strong knowledge of Merlin systems and associated support equipment, planning processes, and health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personnel are authorised to carry out contracted tasks per Regulations and Procedures.
• Ensure tasks follow current policy, regulatory standards, and statutory requirements.
• Monitor work to ensure completion within timelines and safety standards.
• Flag risks, customer complaints and quality concerns to management.
• Support development of colleagues through identifying training needs and mentoring.
