Airbus Helicopters UK Ltd seeks an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter to support RAF Shawbury’s MFTS operations. You will assist Certifying Engineers to deliver serviceable aircraft, ensure regulatory compliance, and perform high-standard maintenance across airframe, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Essential Level 3 Vocational Qualification in Aircraft Engineering or related Engineering Discipline.
• Experience in aviation engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Certifying Engineers with delivering serviceable aircraft for daily flying programme.
• Ensure compliance with Aviation regulations and Company procedures.
• Complete maintenance to a high standard for safe operation.
• Assist with maintenance of airframe, power plant, mechanical and electrical systems under supervision.
• Assist in day-to-day hangar operations including aircraft movement and housekeeping.

The Opportunity

Aircraft Mechanical Fitter at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire.

Reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager, to support the MFTS operation.

• Assisting Certifying Engineers with the delivery of serviceable aircraft to meet the requirements of the daily flying programme.
• Ensuring compliance with Aviation regulations and Company procedures.
• Accomplishment of Maintenance activities as directed by Maintenance Supervisors.
• Complete maintenance to a high standard to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
• Assisting with aircraft maintenance, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical systems and electrical systems under the supervision of Certifying Engineers.
• Assist in day to day running of the Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.

Fitter-to-LAE Pathway

Aircraft Avionics Technicians who are studying towards their UK CAA Part 66 B2 Licence who have completed at least 6 modules and have more than 3 years’ experience documented in their experience logbooks are also encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will be enrolled onto the AHUK Fitter to LAE Development scheme.

Additional requirements

• This position is subject to National Security Vetting. Candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance, which generally requires having lived in the UK for the last five years. All successful applicants will also undergo a mandatory BPSS check.
