Job summary

Airbus Helicopters UK Ltd is seeking an Aircraft Avionics Fitter based at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire. You will support the MFTS operation, assisting Certifying Engineers to deliver serviceable aircraft and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires experience in aviation engineering, knowledge of UK CAA regulations, and solid avionics/electrical system understanding. Permanent position with a strong benefits package and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Certifying Engineers with delivery of serviceable aircraft.

• Assist with avionics and electrical system maintenance under supervision.
• Support hangar operations including aircraft movement and housekeeping.

The Opportunity

Aircraft Avionics Fitter at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire. Reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager, to support the MFTS operation.

• Assisting Certifying Engineers with the delivery of serviceable aircraft to meet the requirements of the daily flying programme.
• Ensuring compliance with Aviation regulations and Company procedures.
• Accomplishment of Maintenance activities as directed by Maintenance Supervisors.
• Complete maintenance to a high standard to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft.
• Assisting with aircraft maintenance, including avionics systems and electrical systems under the supervision of Certifying Engineers.
• Assist in day to day running of the Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.

Fitter-to-LAE Pathway

Aircraft Avionics Technicians who are studying towards their UK CAA Part 66 B2 Licence who have completed at least 6 modules and have more than 3 years’ experience documented in their experience logbooks are also encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will be enrolled onto the AHUK Fitter to LAE Development scheme.

Additional requirements

• This position is subject to National Security Vetting. Candidates must be able to obtain SC clearance, which generally requires having lived in the UK for the last five years. All successful applicants will also undergo a mandatory BPSS check.
