Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a proactive De-Icer team lead to supervise a shift of de-icing staff and liaise with customers and airline representatives. You will ensure quality, safety and compliance while de-icing aircraft during time-critical operations.

The role requires hands-on experience with aircraft de-icing procedures, a full DVLA driving licence, and strong communication skills in English. Training is provided and the environment emphasizes safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in de-icing procedures and safe handling of de-icing fluids.
• Must read, write and understand English at a good level.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and adherence to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead a shift of De-Icers and communicate with staff and management.
• Perform aircraft de-icing/anti-icing operations.
• Record de-icing/anti-icing events and report safety issues to management.
• Support training of de-icing operators and maintain training records.
• Oversee the batching plant operations and site safety compliance.

Role Purpose

Leading a team of De-Icers on shift. Possess good leadership and organisational skills with the ability to communicate at all levels including staff from de-icers through to management. Must have confidence and the expertise to liaise with customers and airline representatives. The post requires oversight of quality, safety and security whilst de-icing aircraft and must adhere to airline specifications and timeframes. The ideal candidate must be motivated and will strive for the best possible standards in keeping our environment safe and compliant.

What you will be doing

• Check that all security checks are being performed when required.
• Aircraft De-icing
• Apply de-icing/anti-icing with full training provided
• Responsible for recording de-icing/anti-icing events, reporting to management regarding safety, SMART inspections. Daily/Monthly operational inspections.
• Support with the training of de-icing operators and ensure training records are maintained in line with company policy
• Oversight of the Batching Plant
