Job summary

Air Import Clerk role based in Slough (near Heathrow) with salary £35,000 - £39,000 DOE. You will manage day-to-day air import shipments, prepare documents, liaise with customers and suppliers, and ensure smooth operations in a global freight forwarding environment.

The ideal candidate has solid experience in air imports or international freight forwarding, with knowledge of customs procedures and air waybills.

Qualifications

• Experience in air imports or international freight forwarding.
• Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and import documentation.
• Familiarity with air waybills and freight systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating air import shipments, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Preparing and checking import documentation, customs paperwork and relevant shipping records.
• Handling air waybills (HAWBs and MAWBs) and associated freight documentation.
• Liaising with customers, airlines, suppliers and haulage companies to coordinate shipments and deliveries.
• Arranging collections and deliveries, ensuring customers are kept updated throughout the process.
• Handling customer enquiries and resolving shipment-related issues.
• Preparing quotations, checking supplier charges and processing shipment invoices.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant customs procedures and import regulations.
• Maintaining accurate records and working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.
