Job summary

Expeditors is seeking an Air Import professional to ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, delivering exceptional customer service within the Air Import department.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, process flow, and liaison with airlines, overseas offices, and warehouse teams. A proactive, organized candidate with solid computer skills will thrive, with a 4 days on/4 days off shift pattern including early hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar position desirable.
• Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
• Pro‑active, strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.
• Process pre alerts from overseas origins.
• Monitor/track shipments in transit to arrival.
• Timely update event codes in the import system.
• Liaise with airlines and sheds for discrepancies.
• Liaise with collection drivers and the warehouse team.
• Create records for shipments in our customs facility.
• Settlement of consoles with overseas offices.
• Contribute to maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking companies, and others).
• Meet compliance at all times to regulations ( OPS, external government regs, or customer policies).
• Understand department process flow, looking for areas of improved efficiency.
