Air Freight Import Operator

Location: Basildon, Essex

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive

Our leading freight forwarder client in Basildon is seeking an experienced Air Freight Import Operator to join their growing team. If you have 4-5 years of experience in air freight imports and are confident working with Forward Office and Sequoia systems, this could be the perfect next step in your logistics career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter import jobs into the Forward Office system accurately and promptly.
• Sort and process Air Waybills (AWBs) and all related import documentation.
• Issue Duty, VAT, and additional invoices as required.
• Liaise closely with the Customs Clearance Team to ensure compliance and timely clearance.
• Provide clients with regular updates and Proof of Delivery (POD) information.
• Finalize and close import files in line with company procedures.

Requirements:

• 4-5 years' experience in air freight imports.
• Strong working knowledge of Forward Office and Sequoia software.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Confident communicator with a proactive, team-focused approach.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

This is a full-time, permanent position, mainly working Monday to Friday, with weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.
