Job description

Our leading freight forwarder client based in Basildon is currently seeking an experienced Air Freight Import Operator to join their growing team. If you have 4-5 years of experience in air freight imports and are confident working with Forward Office and Sequoia systems, this could be the perfect next step in your logistics career.

Key Responsibilities for the Role of Air Freight Import Operator:

1. Enter import jobs into the Forward Office system accurately and promptly.
2. Sort and process Air Waybills (AWBs) and all related import documentation.
3. Issue Duty, VAT, and additional invoices as required.
4. Liaise closely with the Customs Clearance Team to ensure compliance and timely clearance.
5. Provide clients with regular updates and Proof of Delivery (POD) information.
6. Finalise and close import files in line with company procedures.

Requirements:

1. 4-5 years' experience in air freight imports.
2. Strong working knowledge of Forward Office and Sequoia software.
3. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments at once.
4. Confident communicator with a proactive, team-focused approach.
5. Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

This is a full-time, permanent position, predominantly working Monday to Fridays with weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota basis.
