Job summary

Right Now Recruitment is seeking an experienced Air Export Clerk to join a busy freight forwarding team near Heathrow, based in Uxbridge. You will manage end-to-end air export shipments, ensuring documentation, HMRC compliance and high service levels are met.

The role requires at least two years’ experience, strong knowledge of Air Freight Export operations and the ability to liaise with airlines, customers and logistics partners. Mon-Fri 09:00-17:30, salary £32,000–£38,000.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience managing Air Export shipments from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of Air Freight Export operations and customs procedures.
• Experience completing export customs entries.
• Knowledge of CargoWise would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple export shipments within a fast-paced environment.
• A clear 5-year checkable employment history and DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Manage air export shipments from booking through to departure.
• Prepare and process export documentation, including Air Waybills (AWBs), House Air Waybills (HAWBs), customs declarations and shipping documentation.
• Complete export customs entries accurately and in accordance with HMRC regulations.
• Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, customers and transport providers to ensure smooth movement of freight.
• Produce accurate and competitive freight quotations.
• Provide customers with regular shipment updates and maintain high level of service.
• Work closely with warehouse, operations and finance teams to ensure shipments are processed efficiently.
• Complete customer invoicing and maintain accurate operational records.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Air Export Clerk to join a well-established freight forwarding business based near Heathrow.

Working within a busy export operations team, you will manage end-to-end air export shipments, ensuring all documentation, customs requirements and customer expectations are handled accurately whilst delivering an excellent level of service.

Duties & Responsibilities of an Air Export Clerk
