Job summary

AB-Zero Air Conditioning Ltd is seeking a Commercial Air Conditioning Service Engineer in Pitsea, Essex, covering Essex, London and the M25. The role starts hands-on with PPM visits and reactive call-outs, then progresses to lead the service division, managing a team of engineers and planning diary schedules.

You will work on VRF, VRV and split systems, with F‑Gas certification and a valid UK driving licence, and you’ll benefit from a clear route to Service Lead as the division grows.

Qualifications

• F‑Gas Category 1 certification is required.
• Valid full UK driving licence is essential.
• Significant experience servicing and fault‑finding on commercial AC systems.
• Ambition to move into a leadership role as the service division grows.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on commercial AC systems, including cleaning and filter changes.
• Diagnose and repair faults on VRF/VRV and split systems.
• Respond to service call-outs and keep clients informed.
• Complete service reports and F‑Gas records after each visit.
• Support commissioning and validation work when needed.
• In time, lead and schedule a team of service engineers.

About us

AB-Zero is an established commercial air conditioning contractor We install, commission and maintain VRF and split systems for offices, schools, restaurants and commercial clients across London and the South East. We're F‑Gas/REFCOM accredited and have a strong record on projects for clients

The opportunity

We're launching a dedicated service and maintenance division, and we're looking for the engineer who will grow with it. You'll start hands‑on, carrying out PPM visits and reactive call‑outs across our client sites. As the division grows, you'll step up to lead it: running a team of service engineers, planning the diary and becoming the face of our maintenance work.

This is a chance to build something from the ground up, not just fill a vacancy.

What we're looking for

• F‑Gas Category 1 certification
• A full UK driving licence
• Solid experience servicing and fault‑finding on commercial systems (Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Samsung experience a plus)
• Confidence dealing directly with clients and facilities managers
• Organised, reliable and proud of the quality of your work
• The ambition to step into a leadership role
