Job summary

SER Limited is looking for an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to service, repair, install and maintain AC and refrigeration systems across commercial and public sites in the North of England. The role spans schools, MOD sites, universities and factories with progressive development opportunities.

You will manage multiple sites, diagnose faults, and lead projects from planning to completion, while adhering to health and safety standards. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent with NVQ Level 3.
• F-Gas and ODS Regulations qualification/experience.
• Site Safety/CSCS Health & Safety qualification or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to organise and manage workload across multiple sites.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Subject to DBS/Police and MOD vetting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and installations.
• Work on air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, AHUs and extraction systems.
• Diagnose faults and identify additional works required.
• Lead jobs from planning through to completion, working safely and efficiently.
• Complete maintenance records, job sheets and relevant certification.
• Liaise with clients and provide excellent customer service.
• Work independently while supporting other maintenance team members.
• Participate in the call-out rota where applicable.

Position: Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Stockton-on-Tees

Salary/Package: £43,000 + up to approx. £5,000 call-out earnings, Van/Fuel Card, PPE & Tools, 25 days holiday +8 Banks, Pension, Career development.

Purpose of the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join a growing mechanical and electrical services business operating across the North of England.

The role involves servicing, maintaining, repairing and installing air conditioning, refrigeration, air handling and extraction systems across a range of commercial and public sector sites, including schools, universities, MOD sites, factories and other commercial premises.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and installations.
• Work on air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, AHUs and commercial/domestic extraction systems.
• Diagnose faults and identify additional works required.
• Lead jobs from planning through to completion, working safely and efficiently.
• Complete maintenance records, job sheets and relevant certification.
• Liaise professionally with clients and provide excellent customer service.
• Work independently while supporting other members of the maintenance team.
• Participate in the call-out rota where applicable.

Essential Requirements

• Recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• F-Gas and ODS Regulations qualification/experience.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and M&E regulations.
• Site Safety/CSCS Health & Safety qualification or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to organise and manage your own workload across multiple sites.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Successful candidates will be subject to advanced DBS, Police and MOD vetting

Desirable

• IPAF & PASMA
• IOSH / SMSTS or equivalent
• Experience with measuring and quotation preparation
• Basic electrical knowledge, including 18th Edition

Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
