Job summary

Catering is seeking an experienced air conditioning engineer to join a growing building services contractor working on high-profile facilities management contracts. This role focuses on service, maintenance and fault-finding within the FM sector, offering long-term stability and realistic on-call commitments.

You will handle the full HVAC spectrum from PPM to repairs, with splits, VRV/VRF and AHUs. Some chiller exposure is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience in service and maintenance of air conditioning systems.
• Familiarity with commercial/high-profile facilities environments.
• DBS check and site access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on HVAC and air conditioning systems across commercial sites.
• Attending reactive call-outs and fault-finding, repairs and component replacements on air conditioning and related HVAC plant.
• Working on systems including splits, VRV/VRF, AHUs and related equipment to keep assets operating safely.
• Providing engineering support across prestigious facilities management contracts within commercial and critical environments.
• Maintaining high standards of compliance, documentation and reporting in line with FM and client requirements.
• Operating professionally within live, customer-facing environments to minimise downtime and maintain service continuity.
• Participation in a call-out rota (currently 1 in 68, after probation).

Air Conditioning Engineer Building Services & Facilities Management

We are recruiting an experienced air conditioning engineer to join a growing building services contractor working across high-profile facilities management contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior air conditioning engineer who enjoys service, maintenance and fault-finding work within the FM sector and wants long-term stability, strong clients and realistic on-call commitments.

As an air conditioning engineer, you will cover the full HVAC spectrum, focusing on service, maintenance and repairs across commercial and critical environments. While this is primarily an air conditioning role, the business also has a close partnership with a specialist chiller and refrigeration company, so any chiller exposure is a bonus (but absolutely not essential). This makes the role ideal for a well-rounded air conditioning engineer looking to broaden their skills.

The Role

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of HVAC and air conditioning systems across commercial sites
• Attending reactive call-outs and completing fault-finding, repairs and component replacements on air conditioning and associated HVAC plant
• Working on systems including splits, VRV/VRF, AHUs and related equipment, ensuring all assets operate efficiently and safely
• Providing engineering support across prestigious facilities management contracts within commercial and critical environments
• Maintaining high standards of compliance, documentation and reporting in line with FM and client requirements
• Operating professionally within live, customer-facing environments where minimising downtime and maintaining service continuity is essential
• Participation in a call-out rota (currently 1 in 68, after probation)

Location

• Ideally based along the M4 corridor or close to the M25
• Open to air conditioning engineers based in London, the Home Counties, or along the M4 / M3 corridors

What Were Looking For

• An air conditioning engineer with strong FM / building services experience
• Solid background in HVAC service and maintenance
• Some chiller experience is advantageous but not a necessity
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check due to site access requirements
