Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Air Conditioning Engineer with a strong installation background to work on commercial sites across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and surrounding counties. The role includes service, maintenance and fault-finding as needed, with a balanced split between installation tasks.

You will join a well-established M&E contractor, with a robust pipeline of local authority and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within commercial air conditioning.
• Strong installation background with ability to support service and maintenance works.
• Experience working on VRV/VRF/Split/Multi-Split and AHU systems.
• Competent fault-finding skills.
• Experience carrying out compressor changes and major repairs.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

As an Air Conditioning Engineer in Berkshire, you will focus on installation projects across commercial sites, including offices, telecoms, and NHS facilities. Your base will be local, covering Berkshire and surrounding counties, which supports a sensible work-life balance without lengthy commutes. This contract role offers a salary between £35,000 and £45,000 per annum. The position requires solid installation expertise within the HVAC sector, alongside a professional approach to site work.

You will join an established mechanical and electrical contractor with over four decades of experience, known for retaining its workforce. Their portfolio spans local authorities and commercial properties, offering consistent, long-term assignments. Working within this regional team ensures varied tasks and dependable employment.

With a workforce of over 50 employees, they provide a full range of Mechanical and Electrical services. The business operates exclusively within the local region, covering Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, allowing engineers to maintain an excellent work-life balance without extensive travel into London. Their client portfolio consists entirely of commercial properties across local authorities, office buildings, telecoms and NHS sites. The Role

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Air Conditioning Engineer with a strong installation background who is also comfortable carrying out service, maintenance and fault-finding duties when required. This is a varied role offering a healthy split of installation and maintenance work across commercial environments.
