Job summary

1st Step Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join our Hampshire-based team. The role covers predominantly domestic service, maintenance, and installation work, with occasional commercial projects within a 150-mile radius.

You will diagnose faults, service chillers, and ensure compliance with current F-Gas regulations. Applicants should hold a City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or 3, a valid F-Gas certificate, and a Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in HVAC or equivalent.
• F-Gas Certification.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive service, maintenance, installation, and repair on domestic projects.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults across a wide range of equipment.
• Work on systems including water chillers, air-cooled and water-cooled systems, cold rooms, and commercial refrigeration plan.
• Complete detailed fault-finding, performance analysis, and system optimisation.
• Carry out refrigerant handling, leak detection, and F-Gas compliance tasks.
• Attend breakdowns and deliver effective repair solutions independently.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and junior engineers where required.
• Complete accurate service reports, worksheets, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with current regulations.
• Domestic work will be based locally to GU46, whereas commercial work aims to service clients within a 150-mile radius.

1st Step Solutions are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer in the Hampshire area on behalf of an established Air Conditioning, Ventilation & Heating Contractor. Due to expansion within the business, this role will be mainly working on domestic projects, but will require some working within the commercialarm of the business when required.
