Job summary

JLB Recruitment Ltd seeks a Qualified Air Conditioning Engineer to cover Basingstoke and surrounding area. The role is full-time and field-based, with a 40-hour week and an on-call rota.

You will handle planned and reactive maintenance on commercial air conditioning equipment, including VRV/VRF systems, and you must hold F-Gas certification and Level 2 NVQ (City & Guilds 6187) or equivalent; a clean UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold F-Gas certification and a Level 2 NVQ Diploma (City & Guilds 6187) or equivalent.
• Experience in commercial air conditioning, including VRV/VRF systems.
• Clean UK driving licence and local living within commuting distance to Basingstoke.
• PASMA/IPAF preferable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on commercial AC equipment.
• Work on field-based assignments within ~20 miles of Basingstoke.
• Contribute to an on-call rota (one week in six).
• Respond to OoHs breakdown calls with appropriate call-out compensation and travel payment.

Job description

Qualified Air Conditioning Engineer

• Up to £47,000 per annum, depending on experience
• Full-time/Permanent (minimum 40hr week)
• Field-based, working mostly within a 20-mile radius of Basingstoke
• Shall be assigned to both planned and reactive maintenance activities
• Will contribute to an existing on-call Rota (one week in six)
• OoHs breakdown calls pay a minimum of 4hrs at either x1.5, x2 or x2.5, with travel paid door-to-door

Minimum Role Requirements:

• Live locally to Basingstoke
• Must be able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness, a robust work ethic and excellent communication skills
• Minimum 2 years' field experience working independently on commercial air conditioning equipment, including complex VRV/VRF systems
• Must hold current F-Gas Certification and a minimum Level 2 NVQ Diploma (City & Guilds 6187) or equivalent qualification
• Full, clean UK driver's licence
• PASMA and IPAF Certified (preferable but not mandatory)
