Job description

AI Solutions Development Engineer

Location: Cheltenham, UK (Hybrid working)

Role Overview:

The Group AI Solutions Development Engineer will use their skills in AI solution development and passion for collaboration to develop the AI capabilities of Spirax Group. The successful candidate will deliver showcase AI projects through agile lean startup methodology and, by working with third parties, will ensure the successful delivery of AI initiatives aligned with the Group's strategic goals.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on...
  1. Collaborating to deliver showcase AI solutions that highlight AI opportunities to the Group and how to deliver them.
  2. Providing colleague guidance, support, and training to establish and maintain their AI solution development capabilities.
  3. Using AI showcase developments and collaborating with functional teams to establish and maintain shared methodologies, ways of working, and tool sets.
  4. Staying updated with emerging AI trends and technologies, raising awareness of these innovations, and identifying appropriate uses of new capabilities.
  5. Collaborating to develop and implement our AI governance framework for ethical, secure, and compliant deployments at scale.
  6. Establishing appropriate documentation (design specifications, test plans, AI ethics/policy, and user guides) to enable governance processes and solution compliance.
Your previous experience is likely to include....
  1. AI solutions development, mainly multi-agency, multi-modal AI.
  2. Supporting others to develop their AI solution development skills.
  3. Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to change working practices and implement AI solutions.
  4. Integrating Copilot Studio with wider Power Platform capabilities.
  5. Practical experience in agile development and lean startup methodologies.
To be successful in this role you will...
  • Demonstrate Company Core Values at all times.
  • Show strong knowledge of developing AI solutions using NLP, LLMs, and SLMs.
  • Demonstrate experience and capabilities with Microsoft products such as Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Azure Semantic Kernel, Azure Agentic Services, and other Azure services.
  • Possess sufficient Azure DevOps capabilities.
  • Be proficient in AI frameworks and programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Have a keen interest in emerging technologies and a desire to help shape the Group's digital direction.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
