Azure Lead Software Security Engineer with Development Background, DevSecOps, Mainly Remote

Software Security Engineer Lead is required for a fast-growing company based in Central London, primarily remote. Please read fully before applying.

We seek someone with a Microsoft tech-stack background, experience as an Azure DevSecOps Consultant, or a Unix/Linux Systems Administrator. You should have a development or coding background and have transitioned into Software or Cloud Security engineering. Strong Azure skills are essential; AWS experience is acceptable but not preferred.

We prefer candidates from a development background rather than traditional IT operations, with a solid understanding of software development to effectively collaborate with developers and build trust.

This role was successfully introduced two years ago; you will continue to develop this function, working with cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills are necessary to work effectively across various functions. This is a hands-on, lead role, ideal for those with consultancy experience and practical skills.

A passion for modern security practices is crucial, particularly in automating, streamlining, and integrating security into daily workflows while maintaining quality and security standards.

Experience Required

• Demonstrable experience as a Systems Administrator, Software Developer, or both
• Expertise in Cloud Security
• Knowledge of DevSecOps tools such as Terraform, Bicep, SonarCloud, Wiz, and security products like Trivy
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform
• Understanding of software development methodologies
• Ability to perform Rapid Risk Assessments and Threat Modeling
• Technical skills in Azure Security Monitoring, Application Insights, and SIEM
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and product delivery
