Job summary

NICE – The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence is seeking an Applied AI Specialist to lead the practical adoption, governance and optimization of AI tools that boost productivity, decision quality and operational efficiency.

The role focuses on translating organisational problems into actionable AI use cases, evaluating tools, and configuring AI workflows with governance for safe, ethical, and value-driven outcomes.

Qualifications

• Holds highly developed specialist knowledge at master's level or equivalent.
• Artificial intelligence certification or Human-computer interaction experience.
• Extensive experience applying AI or automation tools in real contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment and optimisation of AI-enabled productivity tools.
• Translate organisational problems into clear applied AI use cases.
• Evaluate AI tools balancing capability, risk, cost and user benefit.
• Configure, pilot, evaluate and iterate AI tooling and governance controls.
