Job summary

The Law Support Group, a leading intellectual property firm, is seeking a paralegal to join its Knowledge Team and help shape how AI is used across the practice.

You will design AI workflows, draft guidance for fee-earners, validate outputs against authorities, engage with fee-earners, and maintain AI content on the knowledge hub to promote responsible use. This is a hands-on, detail-focused role.

A leading intellectual property firm, working with some of the world's most innovative companies, is looking for a paralegal to join its Knowledge Team and help shape how AI is used across the practice.

The Role

This is a hands-on role at the centre of the firm's AI initiatives — turning identified use cases into clear, practical, fee-earner-led processes that use AI tools to surface, structure and stress-test legal expertise. You'll work closely with the Knowledge Director, the wider Knowledge Team and fee-earners directly, building guidance on how to use AI well in practice: what inputs to prepare, how to prompt effectively, how to interrogate outputs, and where professional judgement must take over.

What You'll Be Doing

• AI workflow design — develop, document and maintain AI-enabled workflows for research, drafting support, comparative analysis and know-how synthesis, including input preparation, structured prompting, and frameworks for assessing outputs.
• Prompt and guidance development — draft and maintain clear prompt guidance for fee-earners, covering task-specific prompts, common failure modes, and how to treat AI outputs as inputs to legal thinking rather than substitutes for it. Curate and update prompt libraries and worked examples.
• Human-in-the-loop validation — build in review, sense-checking and sign-off stages, and comparison against authoritative sources (legislation, case law, precedents), ensuring AI outputs are always treated as a starting point, not an answer.
• Fee-earner engagement — act as the go-to contact for fee-earners using AI tools, gather feedback on what's working, and help foster a culture of questioning and adapting AI outputs rather than accepting them at face value.
• Knowledge governance — maintain AI-related content on the firm's knowledge hub and track developments in tools and practice that require guidance updates.

What We're Looking For

• A law degree, postgraduate diploma, or equivalent experience; IP knowledge is a plus.
• Genuine interest in generative AI tools used in legal practice, and a clear-eyed understanding of their limitations.
• Ability to turn complex processes into clear, step-by-step guidance.
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgement assessing the reliability of outputs.
• Confident communicator, comfortable working with fee-earners at all levels.
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage a varied workload to deadlines.
