Job summary

Penta is seeking Applied AI / ML Engineers at an early career stage to design, build, test and deploy AI-native software workflows and data science capabilities using Python, LLMs, AWS and Claude Code.

You will work with modern AI tools to ship practical AI-enabled tools and production-ready workflows, collaborating with advisory teams and internal operations. The role emphasizes hands-on building, experimentation and rapid delivery in a practical environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building with at least one modern AI-native tool or platform.
• Strong Python coding ability sufficient to build, read, test and debug real software.
• Strong prompting and context-engineering skills, and familiarity with using LLMs in real workflows.
• Comfort with APIs, JSON, structured outputs and everyday developer tooling.
• Basic to intermediate SQL.
• Git version control.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving and self-learning skills.
• Bias towards shipping working software, not just analysis or notebooks.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-native tools and workflows using Claude Code and frontier AI tools.
• Develop practical LLM workflows, agents, skills and tools for advisory teams and internal operations.
• Implement reusable AI capabilities using OpenWebUI, LiteLLM and MCP tools.
• Work across prompting, context engineering, structured outputs, evaluation and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Move prototypes to production with rapid delivery and reliability.
• Review and improve AI-generated code, ensuring it is testable and maintainable.
