167 Solutions in the United Kingdom is seeking an Engineering Manager for Applied AI & Data Science to lead a multidisciplinary team building production-grade AI systems and advancing AI engineering practices.

You will own delivery, shape architecture, mentor AI/ML engineers and data scientists, and collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to translate ambitious AI initiatives into scalable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading AI/ML engineers or data scientists.
• Strong hands-on AI/ML background with Python in production.
• Experience designing LLM-powered and agentic AI apps (RAG, NLP).
• Familiar with LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK and similar tools, plus MCP/A2A interoperability.
• Deep AWS cloud experience: Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, Step Functions; IaC with CDK.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary AI team.
• Own technical delivery and align priorities with business goals.
• Remain hands-on: contribute Python code and prototype solutions.
• Shape AI architecture for agentic systems, RAG pipelines and NLP apps.
• Build safe AI agents with guardrails, human-in-the-loop controls and evaluation.
• Drive AI-native software engineering and cost optimisation.
• Work with AWS services (Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, Step Functions).
